What “community-driven” means at this stage
The project is open to contributions and correction, but it does not yet have enough independent public responses to claim community consensus or publish poll-like percentages.
Until participation broadens, “what we heard” will distinguish individual contributions, recurring themes and genuine disagreement.
The Community Pulse method now explains how structured responses will be verified and why they cannot be treated as an official community vote.
Project pathway
What is complete—and what comes later.
A concept is not a planning approval, an engineering study or a partnership agreement. The pathway keeps those stages separate.
Initial visual archive
Current site photography is published for Areas 1-4, with a regional aerial contribution and an Area 5 concept illustration.
Evidence and community collection
Public records, missing historical material, resident knowledge, corrections and practical concerns are being gathered.
Community Pulse method
The verification, counting, privacy, reporting and limitation rules are published before the first Community Pulse opens.
First Community Pulse
The exact questions, review roles, privacy notice and response period must be fixed before participation begins.
Concept maps and alternatives
Maps and visualizations will be developed only after the current record and key constraints are strong enough.
Feasibility and partnership work
Engineering, ownership, environmental, financial and governance questions require qualified partners and formal study.
What changed
A dated record of material decisions.
These are changes to Harrison Rising's own working concepts and public presentation—not municipal decisions.
Existing and vision image pairs published
Areas 1, 2 and 4 now show one existing-condition image beside the current working concept. Area 3 shows separate existing-and-vision pairs for the public pool and lagoon waterpark. The Area 2 log-cabin market remains a separate concept still to be developed.
Community Pulse method published
Harrison Rising defined how future structured responses will be verified, counted and reported, including firm limits on what voluntary online participation can claim.
Website reframed as an evidence and participation hub
Detailed proposals were moved into fuller area records. The homepage now leads with what is known, what is missing and how contributions are used.
Area 5 method clarified
The proposal now emphasizes a proven colour-stripe system adapted to BC rules, authorization and ecology. Volunteer protection and recognition are explicit.
Area 4 history separated from opinion
The 2008-2010 record is presented as a documented sequence with unanswered questions, without assigning personal blame.
Area 3 roles separated
Area 3 focuses on family recreation and a seasonal waterpark. Thermal bathing is assigned to Area 4 only if the wastewater and wellness concept proves feasible.
Area 2 tourism emphasis reduced
The greenway concept now prioritizes residents, privacy and small local economic participation rather than promotion as a high-volume visitor route.
First regional aerial contribution received
Ralph van Woerden's aerial footage became the first credited regional visual record and the website's opening image.
